রক্তে রক। Rock is in the blood — not learned, not borrowed, just there, humming under the skin since before you knew what a guitar was. Bengal’s relationship with rock didn’t start as a Western import; it started in 1975, in a Kolkata living room, when a band called Mohiner Ghoraguli plugged in and did something nobody in Indian music had done before — wrote and performed original rock music entirely in Bengali. Their sound, part Baul folk, part jazz, part pure guitar rebellion, didn’t sell many records at the time, but it refused to die. Bootleg tapes passed hand to hand across Calcutta college campuses through the ’80s, until the band reformed in the ’90s — by which point a whole new generation, Chandrabindoo, Cactus, Fossils, Bhoomi among them, had already picked up where they left off. Bangla rock became a genre of its own: electric, loud, and fully, unmistakably Bengali.
That’s the blood this tee is named after. Graffiti-sharp typography in two-tone red and off-white, cracked and dripping like fresh spray paint, finished with a lightning bolt that doesn’t need explaining. Printed on 240 GSM, bio-washed and combed cotton in our signature oversized cut — built for mosh pits and metro rides alike.
If “Rokte Rock” is your anthem, Rockbaaz — Bengali for someone who lives and breathes rock — belongs right next to it in your closet. For attitude that doesn’t dial itself down, Bishakto Manush carries the same unapologetic edge. And for more where this came from, browse the full Bengali oversized t-shirt collection.
Turn it up. It’s in the blood.
